Best Gaming Controllers

Best Gaming Controllers

Whether it’s manipulation or gaming experience, the gaming controller is much better than the mouse and keyboard.

I am a person who likes to play games, especially sports, such as NBA2K. If you play this kind of game with PS4 or Xbox, it is very convenient to operate with the handle.

However, I have to say that due to the fierce operation, my gaming controller replacement frequency is very high. Through my experience and summary, I think the PS DualShock 4 is still the best gaming controller.

In addition to ps4, what other game controllers are worth buying now?

1. PlayStation DualShock 4

PlayStation DualShock 4

Although not suitable for use on a desktop computer, the DualShock 4 is our favorite gamepad anyway.

It’s very rugged and there’s almost no dent when we press the handle hard. The buttons on the handle are equally reliable, and they can be easily bounced back, no matter how hard the buttons, triggers, bumpers and analog bars are pressed.

In addition, DS4Windows offers a wealth of customization features. If you are willing to do some setup work, then the DS4 will be an excellent wireless gaming controller.

But disappointingly, you have to buy Sony’s expensive USB adapter or use the free unofficial DS4Windows software.

Pros /Cons
  • Great analog trigger feel
  • Robust manufacturing quality
  • Need to install unofficial software to be used on Windows systems

2. Microsoft Xbox Elite Wireless

Microsoft Xbox Elite Wireless

This is a sturdy, gorgeous, configurable gaming controller with a shell material and button layout that is no different from the original Xbox One handle, but it’s heavier than most other products we use.

The buttons on the front are quite large and are easily soiled. When you pull the bumper and trigger, it produces a loud hum, exactly the same as using the Xbox One.

Microsoft offers a flexible configuration software that allows you to adjust the trigger’s maximum/minimum velocity, joystick sensitivity, button assignments, and profile assignments to make it more attractive for Windows systems.

Everything about the Xbox Elite has been meticulously designed, coupled with powerful software and a sophisticated, stylish look, making it one of the most luxurious gaming controllers.

Pros /Cons
  • Easy to replace components
  • Powerful supporting software
  • Expensive

3. Razer Wildcat

Razer Wildcat

The handle is very similar in size and shape to the Xbox One design, and with an optional adhesive handshake, it is still very comfortable to hold on for a long time.

Its trigger is easy to pull and can be shortened by the two sliders on the back of the handle. Other buttons provide a satisfying click response, just like using a professional gaming mouse.

In addition, the design of the arrow keys (D-Pad) eliminates omnidirectional input and insists on using four buttons, which means that in a two-player game, you may be hit or miss a skill cast, but the main direction is more precise.

Overall, Wildcat feels more like an expensive, slightly customizable Xbox controller, and the Xbox Elite does a better job.

Pros /Cons
  • Adjustable trigger
  • More buttons than the Xbox handle
  • Expensive

4. Steam Controller

Steam Controller

This is a large-sized gaming controller for people with large palms, but it’s comfortable. After a few dozen games, your hands may feel nervous or sore.

It is the only handle designed to play games that don’t support the handle. But for games that support handles, we prefer DualShock 4 and Xbox Elite.

If you are tired of playing computer games with your mouse and keyboard, but want to copy their functions as much as possible, Steamgaming controller is the best choice.

Pros /Cons
  • Can be used to control games that only support mouse and keyboard
  • Highly configurable control map
  • The design is not very comfortable
  • More complicated to use

5. Xbox 360 Wireless

Xbox 360 Wireless

The DualShock 4 is our favorite gaming controller, but the Xbox 360 and Xbox Elite handles are still a great choice.

In terms of quality, the slightly smaller Xbox 360 is more sophisticated and has an improved directional button that is developed for most computer games that support the handle.

It is very simple to use. Most computer games have button prompts based on the Xbox handle and are automatically detected as soon as they are inserted.

Although the DS4 is our favorite product, we still use the Xbox 360 controller often because its rocker layout, trigger and bumper are very good.

Pros /Cons
  • Affordable
  • Most games support
  • Bad direction key

6. Logitech F310

If you want to buy a cheap gaming controller, then the Logitech F310 is probably one of the best options. It’s only half the price of DualShock 4, but you also lose wireless capabilities.

The quality of the F310 is very reliable and will work as soon as it is connected to the computer. Despite its light weight, it is still like a tank, so you are invincible.

On the other hand, the arrow keys feel a bit loose, the manufacturing quality can not be compared with the DS4, the trigger and bumper design are not comfortable enough, long-term use may cause hand pain.

In general, this is also a good controller, if you don’t mind some of its tips, it will be a good choice.

Pros /Cons
  • Affordable
  • Simple to use
  • Stiff trigger
  • No wireless function

Microsoft and Sony’s own game console handles: Xbox One and DualShock 4, as the default setting standards for the two most popular hosts, third-party handles always tend to imitate them.

In this case, the standard is the best. For computer games, we didn’t find a better option than the DualShock 4, even though the Xbox 360 is very close.
